Conasa is 98th in the regional ranking and 40th among the 100 largest in the state of Paraná
Conasa, a holding company that manages Special Purpose Entities (SPE) in the sanitation, roads, and energy sectors, ranks 98th in the 500 Largest Companies in the South 2024 ranking, which evaluates companies in the southern region of Brazil, released on Monday, October 21, by Amanhã magazine in partnership with PwC Brasil.
This ranking is considered the country's most important regional indicator of companies. In the ranking for the southern region, Conasa climbed 56 places compared to its performance in the previous year. In addition, the holding company is in 40th place among the 100 Largest in Paraná.
To determine the most prominent companies, the 2024 Ranking is based on data from 2023. It considers information from the Weighted Value of Greatness (VPG), which takes into account balance sheet figures on shareholders' equity (with a weight of 50%), revenue (40%), and net profit (10%).
Conasa has made steady progress, ranking 154th in the 2023 Ranking, with data from 2022, and 199th in the 2022 Ranking, with data from 2021.
“In 2023, we achieved unprecedented results, reflecting the joint efforts of our teams, which demonstrate our commitment to generating value for our stakeholders, be they shareholders, customers or the communities where we operate,” says Mario Marcondes Neto, CEO of Conasa.
With 23 companies in the five regions of Brazil and more than 2,000 direct jobs, 2023 was a year of transition at Conasa from pre-operational to operational assets. As a result, the group, which is the 6th largest private group in the sanitation and highway concessions segment, grew by 70%.
In 2023, Via Brasil BR-163, Conasa's concessionaire responsible for 1,009 kilometers of Via Brasil BR-163, went into commercial operation. Its toll revenues are the second highest in the country, behind NovaDutra.
In addition, Conasa's companies Águas do Sertão, a sanitation operation serving 34 municipalities in Alagoas, and Via Brasil MT-246, a state roads concessionaire in Mato Grosso, went into full commercial operation.
"We are confident that Conasa is prepared to stand out as a sustainable investment platform, delivering lasting value to all stakeholders and playing its part in transforming Brazilian infrastructure," concludes Marcondes Neto, as of the 2023 results.
