World Water Day, celebrated in March 21, will have a unique program in Itapema. As a guest of Conasa Águas of Itapema, André Trigueiro, a journalist from Rede Globo, specialized in environmental journalism, will be in the city for a lecture on “Water Sustainable Management: an urgent challenge”.  The event will take place at Itapema Beach Resort, starting at 7.30 pm.  Participation is free of charge, but participants must register in advance through the website www.aguasdeitapema.com.br/palestra

According to Trigueiro, Brazil must discuss intelligent water management. “We are known worldwide for our rivers and their abundance but not for the intelligent way we manage these precious resources”, he says. The journalist points out that pollution and waste are great threats; however, there is still time to change this scenario.

André Trigueiro is editor-in-chief of Cidades e Soluções (Cities and Solutions) broadcasted by Globo News and columnist at Folha de S.Paulo. He is also a College Professor of Environmental Geopolitics and the creator of a course on Environmental Journalism at PUC-Rio. He has vast experience in international news coverages and reports on environment and sustainability.
